Here at home in the Riverside area we specialize in the expert repair and installation of pool and spa equipment, pool automation and salt systems. Do you have an above ground spa that is giving you problems? This is also something we can help you with.
California title 20, which came into effect on January 1, 2008, requires that if you replace a pool filter pump of one hp or greater, you must install one that is variable or at least two speed. These pumps can save a lot of $$$$ and they run much quieter. Also, since they run longer on low speed, the water is kept moving for a greater period of time. This results in a cleaner pool that is more free from algae. You can still change out a motor if you are not replacing the whole pump. If you are a Southern California Edison customer you can receive a 200.00 rebate for the installation of a two speed or variable speed pump. The law only applies to filtration pumps, not those used for waterfalls, slides, etc., and does not affect commercial pools.
If you live in an area that gets chilly, make sure you run your pump long enough to avoid freeze damage, or if you shut down the pool, be sure to drain the equipment. Last winter we had several cases of ruptured heaters.
Send an e-mail or call me if you have any questions about your pool or spa.
